  1. Like the previous posters my guess is eczema. My daughter  who is now three suffered from eczema. I suggest you try Cetaphil cleanser, and Cetaphil Lotion, followed by Aquaphor (you can purchase all products at a store like Costco or Wall-martt for price savings).  I also read that research is being done to see how the live cultures in yogurt help to reduce the effects of eczema and the results looked promising (note: not all yogurt has active live cultures,  so be sure and read labels).  My best to you and your child.

  2. Try seeing a dermatologist.

  3. It might be eczema

  4. Those are very common places for eczema...when you find a new doc, ask him if he thinks that's what it is and if a referral to an allergist is needed. Some kids don't need it.

In the mean time, try Eucerin Calming cream until the flare goes away and then plain Eucerin after that.  You can also try Benadryl ointment ( or oral ) for itching.

    I hope this helps!

  5. I can only answer from personal experience in that I also got a rash behind my knees and the inside of my elbows and it was a heat rash.  Worse in the summer or when I was sweating but it would go away eventually and I would put anti-itch cream on if it got too bad.

  6. My daughter got a similar type of thing when she was smaller.  It was dry skin.  The bumps were a bit sharp or rocky t times.  What I found was that I had to make sure that her bath was lukewarm.  If it was on the hot side of warm at all, then she was guaranteed to have the rash. She could not have a long bath either because the water would take the moisture out of her skin and then the rash would be back again. I was able to get a cream at the health store that really helped.  And I was able to get Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment which is an oatmeal based powder that goes in the bath to help with moisture.  Wal-Mart has an Equate one that worked just as well for half the price.  It just does not say baby on it.

My daughter is now 4 and does not really have the problem anymore. Although, I will say that I am well trained in getting the bath just warm enough.

    Hope this helps.

  7. My guess is eczema.

I had it pretty bad as a kid but it went away as I grew older.
