Baby reborn - out of interest...

i followed a few links on a question posted earlier. i came across these pictures, which slightly freaked me out!

does anyone else think they look like little old people?!

and why would anyone want a fake baby, i just dont get it!

I went to a craft show around Christmas time last year and saw these things there.  From across the room, I first thought the booth was selling baby blankets and clothes and using babies as models, which I thought was horrible to do that to poor little babies.  As I got closer, I realized that the "babies" were not moving and that they were the things for sale!  Creepy is putting it mildly!  Can you imagine having one of these things, walking into a room at night and seeing it just laying there?!  Hmmm...no thanks!

I'm not crazy about them, they do look kinda freaky but I'm not really into the whole 'baby reborn' thing. If it's too life like it freaks me out, kinda like having a dead baby sitting around. I know a lot of people like them and more to them but it's not for me. I'd rather have the ordinary china doll if it comes down to it.

They do look like old people but a smaller version! They are too freaky for my liking.

Somebody bought my auntie a baby doll that looks so real, she hates it! She actually keeps it in her cupboard under the stairs!

i seen a programme on this on t.v, i suppose people who cant have any babies will get one, but i dont get why t hey dont just adopt or something, cuz they take these out in opram and everything but there dolls... i dont get it lol

I came across this site last Christmas while looking for a dolly for my lo! There was a documentary about the people who make/buy them on C4 last year. One lady flew all the way to America to pick up a specific one ( it was damaged so she couldn't take her ' Baby' home ) she also spent thousands of pounds on designer clothes and prams for the doll, as well as a nursery where she'd spend hours getting to know her baby! I find it strange but, each to their own!

Yes these ones are really scary! I watched a programme about people who were buying dolls like this as sort of a replacement baby. There was a granmother who had a doll made to look like her grandson and she was pushing it around in a pram. It was a bit freaky. Some of them don't look as scary as the little old dead ones.
