  1. you have to make him face his fear...the only way to overcome it ...chase him with the vacumn and tell him mommy is here....the vacumn wont bite u

  2. My daughter used to like it but a few weeks ago before we ripped our carpet out we realized she hated it and came up with a solution: if she has to be on the same floor as you, put her at the opposite end of the house to where you will start vacuuming. I did that and started way far away from her and as I got closer she seemed to be a little shocked but ok. Not sure if that will work for you but it's worth a try.

  3. My son is still scared of the vacuum, but he used to cry and scream until I brought him to it and introduced him to it. While it was off, we had the chance to really inspect it and before I start it up now I show him that I'm going to vacuum so the loud noise doesn't freak him out.  He snuggles into his father's lap when I vacuum and watches my every move, but he doesn't get nearly as freaked out as he used to. Loud noises are what really get them.

  4. I think your lucky. My son is facinated by the vacuum and he likes to either open the container that holds all the dust or turn the vacuum on and off while i am trying to use it, or unplug it. He is 1 1/2. I rather have your prob...it sounds a lot less frustrating.

  5. You can't really.  My son is also terrified of the vacuum.

We have to sweep when he's home, and vacuum when he isn't home such as out at the park.

It's a big, scary noise out of a strange-looking machine that may be bigger than he is, if you are using an upright.

I wouldn't force it and wait it out.

  6. My daughter is a little afraid of the vacuum, so we let her push it around when its not on, so that she can see that it doesn't hurt her.  It still scares her a bit when the vacuum is on, but we have her sit on the couch or chair where it can't "get her."

  7. My son has always been afraid of the vacum he is 21 months now i just take him to another room so he wont cry

  8. my 1 yr old loves it she help me clean up . have him help
