Baby scarf slings... what do you think of them ?

What do you think of those? anyone on here has one? what's the good points and the bad points?

ring slings are probably the most common type of sling and they are versatile and easy to use.  you can make one at home or buy a premade one.  they sell them everywhere.

i use a hotsling (http://www.hotslings.com/), which is custom sized and stuctured, but that's because it suits my body type well.  i didn't like the ring sling that i tried (the nojo sling) because it was too padded and it got really hot in the summer in texas.  the hotsling isn't bulky at all.  on the other hand, mom and dad can both use teh ring sling because you can resize it every time.  you can't adjust the size of the hotsling.

I use the maya wrap and I love it.  I used it a lot when my baby was first born.  It was so easy to put on and put her in it.  As she got older I could use it in different ways and adjust.  It is so much easier on my back than the baby carrier we have and a lot easier to put on.  Now that she is older (16 months) I use it a lot less often.  But it is great when she we are out and she insists on being carried.  Takes pressure off my back and arms.

You mean the one that's just a very long piece of fabric that you wrap around you?

I have one. I love it for around the house and for walking the baby to sleep. It divides the weight of the baby over your shoulders a lot better than my baby bjorn, so no pains. It's easily washed and dried, more flexible and less hot than regular slings.

What I don't like about it is that the baby sags down in it if you don't tie it really well. It takes a bit to put on as opposed to regular slings. For those reasons alone I somehow always end up going out with the baby bjorn (but for in the house it's great)
