I did a baby shower two years ago for my best friend. This is my little sisters. I would like to avoid: BABY BINGO, THE SAFETY PIN GAME, BABY FOOD GAME, THE GUESS THE WIDTH OF THE STOMACH GAME, NAME THE BABY.

I don't mean to be difficult but the ones I want to avoid are long and there may be too many people at this thing and I want to keep it simple. I plan on three, and so far I have one and that is the messy diaper one. Please help with two more....

  1. here's a cute one. Create a mad lib, specific to your sister. Write a cute parag. about her and her baby and how you're all looking forward to it, and the trials and tribulations of being a mom bla bla bla, as a master list, then, on a new sheet of paper, put blank lines (as fill in spaces) and underneath the lines write whether the blanks need to be filled in with nouns, verbs, adj. or adverbs. On a 3rd sheet of paper (which you will hand out to the guests first) write a list of what you want the guests to write. For example: the first sentence is "Being a mommy can be a very tiring job"  with the noun mommy and the adjective tiring being left blank. on the 3rd paper the first two words in your list will be 1)noun 2) adjective.  after everyone fills out their list of  parts of speech, you give them the 2nd paper that has the parag. with the blanks, and everyone fills them in, according to their list. Then everyone hands in their papers and one person gets to read them out loud. We did this at a bridal shower. The results were hilarious.

    Enjoy.

P.S. email me (by clicking on my name) if you get stuck, I'll help you through it.

  2. I don't know the name of the game, but at my shower they had a tray full of baby supply stuff- some small, some medium size.  They passed it around to every table for a minute or so (you could have more than one tray).  And then took it away.  Everyone had to then write down as many things as they could remember being on the tray.  The mom to be got the stuff on the tray at the end.

Also, at another shower I was at, the host had these little baby figurines- maybe from a party store.  She froze them in an ice cube tray, passed them out in a paper cup and the first person whose baby was thawed ("born") first won.  That's a good one to do first, because it can thaw as you're doing other stuff.

You could also do a list of baby names and have them match the name with the heritage.  Like Kelly would be matched with Irish.

  3. You could just do one game (or none-  I hate them!).

  4. Sounds like you have a tough task, so here are some options.

With so many people do a game where you group guests together to complete a task or game. As a team, it will take longer but you may need have some organized events. Here is a list of 50 games for showers. http://partygameideas.com/baby-shower/ga...

Another idea is to make so games optional, then if 20 people want to play - ok. So no one is forced to play.

Some of the best games for large group are simple trivia and paper and pen games. http://partygameideas.com/baby-shower/in...

The other thing to consider is an ice breaker game, so those who come solo can mingle with ease.

  5. well at my shower we played guess the celebrity baby. we cut out pics of celebs and there baby and u had to guess who matched with who, we also played the memory game. we put a biunch  of baby items on a tray and showed it to everyone for 2 minutes then took it away and the person who remembered the most items on the tray won. u can also play guess the weight and birth date or the baby. thats all i got lol
