  1. I think a bathtub with lotion, washcloths, bath toy, baby wash - that always makes a nice gift for baby to be, it is uni-s*x and is always needed :) You can get a nice tub for $15-20 then take the money you have left to get the cute items to fill it~

  2. Forget the newborn stuff, everyone will buy this sort of thing.  I would buy or make a lovely card and give a Kmart etc. gift card. (Would be much appreciated) it could buy an item she wants or go toward something needed.  New mums are inundated with newborn stuff and usually the baby hasn't got the time to wear everything.

  3. A nappy cake would be awesome, I got one & loved it cos nappys are very expensive & newborns can have up to 10 nappy changes a day!!!! Just make sure to get the newborn nappies~!!!

  4. You could ask her if she plans on breastfeeding and make a nursing gift bag. Lanisoh cream, washable pads, a breastfeeding pillow (Boppy makes a good one). It's a unique gift, and it would be neat if it was from one person. You could also find a second hand breastfeeding book like The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding and put that in, too.

Or, you know, a cute diaper bag?

I'm glad I got Gripe Water and gas drops. They grow so fast that the clothes are mostly useless. He outgrew them all!

P.S.- Babies don't settle themselves. They cry until they get exhausted and pass out. Only love settles them.

I am cloth diapering, and I didn't need any diapers from others.

  5. i found a website that might give u some ideas if u do after all want 2 make a nappy cake

    http://www.creativecakes.com.au/NappyCak...

but if u dont here r some ideas that u can give as a baby shower present:

    Picture Frames

    Health/Grooming Products

    In the Bath Products

Baby Shower Coupons (for example - 2 hour baby sitting, cook 2 meals etc. ur friends sister would really appriciate it)

or clothes, u can never relly get enought of them!

hope that gives you some ideas.

  6. I love buying fairytale books for children/babies. Like Hans Christian Anderson with beautiful drawings. They get to keep them for life and their parents can read to them.

  7. Breastfeeding or not a Boppy pillow is a great item.  I used mine to prop my children up so they could see the world.  Another life savor was the swing. Gift cards are always an option.  Set up a savings bond or education account for the baby.  Gift certificate for professional pictures is always a good idea too

  8. Huggies have a newborn starter kit, which might be something you might consider but i think its $45ish dollars so maybe you can go in with another friend??

Or something that i got which ended up a life saver is a 'toy' for the cot... its plays music (soothing) and has low lights and fish swimming... its great for helping them sleep and training them to settle themselves.

  9. When I was having my baby ,I prefer to receive a gift card to any store like sears or marshals  or money  in a gift  envelop , because I know what I need for my baby .

but if you can't give money ,you can visit her before and  see what she doesn't have and buy it as a gift ,its fine to buy like a bouncy seat or baby swing >

    Good l**k =)

  10. how about finding out who is going and make a money tree, or maybe a gift voucher.

    Good Luck

  11. Check out www.babybouquets.com.au if you are in Australia.

  12. diapers! she can never have enough of those.

  13. How about some unisex baby clothes,Babies need a lot of clothing and such a gift will always be usefull

  14. Well you can get her any of the following:

    Diaper Bag

    Baby bottles

    DIAPERS

    Baby wipes

    Baby cloths

    Recieving blankets

    Bouncer

    Clothing

    Baby tub

    Diaper dispenser

    Baby lotion

    Baby shampoo

Gift card whatever amount you want to give her..many times its best to use them some people give repeats at showers and that sucks.

But if you dont like gift cards then mix and match any of those things. Especially like the Diaper Bag with like diaper, wipes, lotion or even clothing. I bet she will appriciate anything that is given to her.
