Baby shower question~!?

for the longest time i thought baby shower was prepared by the mother of the soon to be born baby... well helped by friends and family members. but my husbands and his friends are saying that its prepared by the friends and family and the mother and the husband is invited... who prepares the baby shower?

My first baby shower my family threw for me. The next one 6 years latter it was my friends. It doesn't really matter who throws the baby shower. The husband really doesn't get invited to the baby shower except to help pack up the car at the end.

Some people have 2 baby showers. One for family and one for friends and co-workers.

Its however you want it. "Traditionally" the family and friends throw the shower but if you want to add on what you would like to be done at the shower there is nothing wrong with that, If you know that your family and friends will take care of everything though then let them. after all either way you will be the guest of honor.

pretty much anyone but the expectant mother. shes supposed to be relaxing! leave the planning to others and just show up and have a good time!

Well, my sister said she was going to plan my shower.  She never got around to doing ANYTHING but setting the time and date, so when the day came, i had to get my houes ready.  I know I'm a loser, i threw myself a shower, but my husband was NOT invited, it was only girls.  Some people have joined parties, its just the mothers choice.

But usually a friend or family member plans that party.
