Did you register for the same items at different stores? I don't know how to organize that, i don't want two people to buy the same things but some people refuse to shop at some places.

  1. register for the things you want at the stores you have them, even if you are registering for the same things.

    people shop at different places.

    the prices are different

they might not be in stock at one store, but will be at another.

and when you get something that is on your registry, then you can take it back without the receipt and get something else that you needed or wanted!

  2. i did babies r us and target. I try to go off the registry for others so i hope they do the same for me. :)

  3. I only registered at one place so that people wouldn't be confused.

  4. I did because, like you said, some people don't or won't shop at the same places.

  5. I registered at target, and even though it was listed on the invitations, only one person bought anything off my registry.  Everyone else just disregarded it.

I just picked one store to make it easy.

  6. I registered at two stores, both very common so anyone should be able to get to one of them.  If there was an item that was available at both, I only put it on the registry where it was the least expensive.  I didn't put it on both because then I would have gotten duplicates.  But didn't want people to get the more expensive item.  However, very few people bought off the of registry anyway.

  7. With things that I need many of, like diapers, diaper rash cream, wipes, formula, etc...

  8. i registered for mostly the same items at 3 different stores and due to people not taking the items they bought off my registry i received 10 baby monitors, 3 bouncy seats, and many other things that were duplicates, so my suggestions is not to do more than one store. i was able to return the items i have many of for store credit, unless they gave me a gift receipt.  Good luck

  9. Very few people buy off registries anymore. Just register at the store YOU will shop at. The registry is basically a list of what you plan to buy if no one else buys it for you.

If your register at Babies'r'us and Aunt Helen doesn't like that store, she can just go to Target and buy you some diapers and clothes. Lots of people will just buy you whatever anyway.

  10. there is a baby boom happening in my family. since last year i have attended a baby shower about every 2 months. i look at the registry but i never buy from it. it seems like a lot of work to register at 2 places. i would do just 1 place.

i usually buy what i feel like. a gift is just that.  i dont' like people telling me what to buy.

i usually look to see what name brand name diapers/wipes you prefer.  or even what name brand of clothing you like. gerber, carter, gap etc.

  11. i would just register for different items if you want or you could try giving people lists of where you are registered. sometimes it just happens somebody duplicates somebody else. use the money you get back from returning the item on thank you cards for everyone.

  12. I was just in the same position as you.  At first I only registered at Babies R Us and I was fine with that. Then when people started asking me where I registered and I told them Babies R Us they complained and said I needed to register at Target too.  So I did and I have spent the last three days online trying to even out my registries.  I only left some things as duplicates like diapers, wipes, bottles, and other things like that that won't hurt if you have extras of.  I also plan to check my registry frequently to see if people are buying at one store more than the other and if so I will switch more things over to that store.  If you want to register for duplicates you could always just watch for people to buy things and lets say someone bought the monitors at Target, then go ahead and take it off the Babies R Us list before someone buys it there too.  That will work unless you want to be surprised at what was bought.
