Baby-sitting rates?

I am going to be babysitting 5 children between the ages of 3 and 7. I will be baby-sitting for four hours in the early evening. How much should I charge?

$40.00 and up, depending on what you feel.

i normally charge two dollars per kid per hour, or if all else fails just tell them to give you whatever, i do that all the time and normally end up anywhere from 20 to 70 dollars.

but yea just start at fourty.no lower.i was an underpayed babysitter all last summer and it sucked.

charge $2.00 per hour per child. OK, so if you do this, it should be $10.00 per hour (5 kids, $2.00 each) and since you are doing this for four hours each day should add up to at least $40.00 which is good. So if you do this for 5 days per week (weekdays) you should end up with... wow, $200.00.

Babysitting rates will depend on your location. What do other people charge for babysitting in your area? What is your age and experience? It will be hard for someone to give you an exact price since there are so many variables.

For example, where I live the going rate is $10-12 an hour for two to three children. If I was asked I would charge about $16 an hour, but I also have 6 years of child care experience, as well as college credits in elementary ed, I am currently a nanny and babysitter and highly sought after between the numerous(6) families I work with, I have cpr/first-aid certification and have taken quite a few workshops on child care.

If you are young, then I would say anywhere between $7.00 and $10 an hour. If you are young but more experienced than between $10 and $15.
