Baby sparrow feeding question?

I found a baby sparrow on the ground about 1 and half weeks ago. Now when I put my finger around its peck, it wants to eat my finger. Does this mean that its ready for worms? Or it just wants to eat my finger?...

  1. It probably associates your finger (or your hand in general) with eating.  Most baby birds eat insects or a specially formulated baby bird food, although I've heard of baby birds eating Science Diet Cat food.  You could try it on worms though.  It wouldn't hurt.
