  1. My daughter didn't walk until she was about 14 mths. She was late crawling too but now she never sits still. Kids start things at different ages and you can't make them do something their bodies aren't ready for. If you're really worried to his doctor for assurance. Good luck!

  2. give it some time. If your son is not walking at 18 mos, tell your doctor.

  3. My DD didn't walk until about 14 months,  I bought a toy from toy r us something like this:

It really was good motivation, they also have toy vacuums and lawn mowers

  4. don't worry to much every child is different and does things in their own time.

  5. You can access free in-home early intervention services.  These services are free to all and not income-based.  Your son is still within the average range for learning to walk, but getting a developmental evaluation and some ideas on how to help your son learn to walk is not a bad idea, especially since it's FREE!  Good luck!  Here's a link to find the contact person for the early intervention program in your state:

  6. umm.

keep trying to stand your child up on its feet.

    its like practicing a kartwheel.

it will get the hang of it sooner or later.

    it will be alright.

  7. while I'm sure everything is fine actually I think walking before 18 months is considered normal he may need some 'extra' help. My son didn't walk until 15 months and was a little late hitting milestones before that. We called our local Regional Center and they sent someone out to assess my son and about a month later he had a physical therapist coming to the house twice a week fully paid for by the state. He has improved so much and at 2 years old can run, jump , and climb like the rest of his friends. Just a suggestion but all you would have to do is type in the name of your state and regional center into any search engine. Good luck

  8. my son started walking when he was 11 months and we have wooden floors, and my daughter she walked when she was 4 days before her 1st birthday,i would talk to the baby's doctor!.

  9. My baby will be 12 months on sunday and she still is not walking either. she can stand up on her on for a few seconds but she hasn't started taking steps yet. I'm not worried about it and u shouldn't either. Babies start walking whenever they are ready. Maybe he is just not ready yet.

  10. is the baby trying on carpet on bare floor!? My son began taking steps in our bed and around a month later he was on his own. A lot of children fear the bare floor~if you have carpet, I would pratice with my son and just keeping up with it? Have you sponek with his pedi.

  11. We used a product called "walking wings" It helped our son stay steady on his feet, and we weren't having to bend over to hold his arms, which were free for him to use. If this doesn't help, don't worry too much, some just take longer than others. Just keep working with him, like helping him stand and guiding him. As long as it doesn't seem to hurt him, I would keep helping him, if you are or get really concerned take him to his pediatrician, and ask if there is anything you can do to help or should you just let him work it out.
