Question:

Baby thrashing around in sleep

My 12 month old has been thrashing around in her sleep. She crawls around and now she whines a lot. I try to make her comfortable (Our family co-sleeps and so far it works for us) and I don't know why she does this or if it is normal. Does anyone else have this problem. Is it a problem. What can I do to make her sleep more peaceful?

  1. im not really sure about my answer, because im not a mom, but i took care of my two baby cousins before, and i think that you should make sure that the place where your baby sleep is big enough and that your baby doesnt get scared through out the day or else she might get nightmares. and try to put some music around where she sleeps so that she can sleep soundly.

    thats just what i think.

  2. Its probably time to put her in her own bed; my son thrashes around if he is laying in our bed and will only fall asleep in his crib.

  3. She is dreaming. She seems to be an active dreamer. You could try swaddling her but at this age they are usually not very happy with that. Maybe she needs to be in her own bed now. Especially if you are loosing sleep over it as well.
