Question:

Baby tree swallow eggs?

Me and my sister found 3 baby tree swallow eggs. They were in a nest, but there was no mother bird there. We brought them home and have the three eggs settled in a glass tank with the nest and a blanket, with a dish of water for humidity, and a light bulb for heat.

is there anything we need to fix and is there any images you guys can give me a link to, to the process of a growing tree swallow.

  1. The reason you didn't see the mother bird is because you were right there!

Why did you take the nest?

You know that you can be fined $500 and/or 6 months in jail for doing that.

Go put the nest back, or give the eggs to a wildlife rehabilitator.

You will NOT be able to hatch them.

You basically just killed 3 baby birds.

Your REAL nice ( sarcasm ).

    Those are tree swallow eggs.

    Are they blue?

If they are they are Robins eggs.

  2. Put these eggs back IMMEDIATELY.  The mother does not sit on the eggs 24 hours a day...she was probably off it getting food OR she could still be in the laying process and will not sit on the nest until ALL of them are laid.  You broke the law by taking these eggs, you could be fined or put in jail for this..put the eggs back immediately in hopes that they are still alive..although I have a feeling you already killed them.  In the future..leave wild birds nest alone..they do not need your help.
