my 1 year old daughter has been vomitting for 3 days ( no fever, no bowl movement). Everytime she drinks milk or water (pedilyte), she vomits all of them. We took her to a peditrician, but the doctor did nothing, and told us just feed her pedilyte water !!! But how can she survive only water for couple days more ? its been 3 days already. I need help ! Doctor is useless.

  1. FiiRST OF ALL ii SORRYy FOR YyoUR BABYy BUT MYy LiiTTLE COUSiiN HAD THAT SAME PROBLEM AND WHAT WE DiiD WAS TOOK HER TO THE DOCTOR AND SHE HAD TO HAVE SURGERYy WELL GOOD LUCK

  2. definetly get a second opinion...possibly the hospital er!  It's better to be safe than sorry!

  3. If you are really concerned take her in to the ER..... say she is throwing everything up..... and you want someone to look more into what is going on.  Be demanding!

  4. Dont panic but do take her to either another doctor or to the Emergency Room.  It could just be a little tummy bug but the lack of bowel movements makes it a little unlikely.

Does she have a headache or rash?  Ask her if her ears hurt?  What colour is the vomit, if it contains blood or is dark brown she definitely needs to see another doc.  If she has a cough or runny nose it could just be flu.  If the vomiting is forceful  (projectile) after each feed or there is weight loss it could be a problem with the emptying of the stomach.  Either way at least ring another doctor on the telephone for advice as 3 days is enough now she isn't able to keep any fluids down so she's at risk of dehydration.  Youre in my prayers and good luck sweetie! :)  Stay calm and think.  She'll be fine but keep pushing for an answer.

  5. first of I am sorry you have to see your baby sick, I know it is hard.

Stop giving her milk, only water or pedilyte.  You could also have her sip some chicken broth, and follow the brat diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast).   I

  6. take her to ER, please...now...your dr is a moron. sorry but he/she is. at er they can replenish the fluids lost by tube feeding since she cant keep anything down. at er they are very quick when they finally get to you, and they will run all sorts of tests as well on her to figure out what is causing the vomiting. But please get off the computer now and take her to ER!

  7. You can actually survive on nothin other than water for up to a month!!!

But i would take her back at 1yr old 3days is a long time take her to A&E or the emergancy room say shes drowsy, dyhydration in young children is reall bad, i dont wanna scare u but can also cause fits, hope shes ok for u x

  8. Hi,If i where u and it was my child I would take her 2the hospital right away just 2 b on the safe side! I know where your coming from about doctors as my doctor is completely useless as well! All the best!

  9. I'd either take her to another doctor or straight to the hospital. you need to know why this is happening.  i hope she feels better soon.

    good luck
