  1. My own two children didn't walk until 14months and 16 months respectively.

Children develop at their own pace and your daughter is well within the realms of normal developmental progress.  She just is not quite ready to do it yet.

Don't push her, - just let nature take it's course.

    Watch and enjoy.

  2. Babies learn at different rates just like everyone else.

My little sister could walk at eight months, but our littler brother couldn't walk until he was 15 months.

Just be patient with her but keep encouraging it.

  3. when she is ready to walk she will. some babies dont start walking untill 17 or 18 monthes.

  4. Count your blessings, one day she'll decide to get up and go and you will lose your "get up and go".

  5. i know this is frustrating especially when other peoples' kids seem so much more "advanced" but kids all mature in different ways, yours will just have late motor development but she may have awesome vocabulary skills or social skills. Doctors dont really worry until around 18 months. just keep encouraging her but know that there is nothing you can do to make her walk sooner than she is suppose to. good luck

  6. My first walked at 9 months, and was running around chasing the cat by ten months.

My second walked at 21 months. She had low muscle tone and just took a while to get it all together.

My third walked at 18 months. He's absolutely enormous, and sometimes big babies walk a bit late.

Don't stress! I bought oodles of walking toys to get my late walkers to get a move on. I held onto their hands and stood them up,  I put cheerios on the coffee table to get them to pull to a stand and furniture cruise, took them to "Music Together" and "Gymboree", the whole nine yards. Assuming there is no underlying medical condition, kids walk when they are good and ready. Just keep gently encouraging her and make sure everything is really babyproofed, because once she starts running around, you've got a whole new can of worms opened!

  7. don't worry if doc says it's normal.  Just enjoy the time you have left with this stage.  Soon she will be walking and you will be chasing her everywhere maybe thinking back to her non walking days. :) :)

  8. Stop comparing YOUR child to someone else's child.  Children are individuals and grow and progress at their own rates.

  9. invite some walking kids over. frequently...ones that are 2 or 3

maybe she will want to get on her feet to keep up with them
