  1. My niece was three when she had her eye fixed. First, they tried patches over the eye to see if it would correct itself. After that did not help, they then had to correct it via surgery. Sometimes it takes a serious of minor operations to fix the eye. Sometimes, even certain prescription glasses might be given if that is the cause. She just goes around telling me how her eyes are fixed now. He is a little guy, so he won't even remember much if he gets it taken care of now, unless the eye doctor decides to hold off. Peace

  2. If you go to an optometrist while he is young you can get it taken care of before it becomes a major problem.

  3. a patch over the good .the brain will train the lazy eye to work.

he's the perfect age to do this

  4. Many lazy eyes are diagnosed by noticing an eye turning in or out. But this is not always the situation. If uncorrected, the brain will ignore the visual input from the weaker eye. There is still disagreement among experts as to how long to wait before correction. My impression is that many authorities are recommending correction as early as possible, but this is not universal. Others say you get good results waiting until age six or seven. Personally, I am biased towards fixing it at a younger age.

A lazy eye can be fixed variously depending on the cause. If it is due to a congenital cataract or cloudy cornea, removing the cataract or doing a corneal transplant is the answer. This is relatively rare. If due to muscle imbalance, surgery on the eye muscles is performed. If due to unequal vision in each eye, corrective glasses are prescribed. Often the stronger eye is patched to force the brain to recognize input from the weaker eye.
