  1. We assume you have already picked the child's name, so why not have a game (with a small prize) to pick (or consider) a "nickname"?

Put the names in a hat and everybody votes on their choice.

  2. there is a game where you guess how big her belly is with tissue or yarn. also put a paper plate on your head and draw a baby and se whoes comes out the best. use the babies name and spell out words. look soem online too.

  3. Games-

Everyone takes some ribbon, and estimates (just by looking at the mommy-to-be) and cuts the ribbon where they think its closest to fitting around her.

Theres one Ive heard of but didnt do- Have people drink from a baby bottle, and first one done wins a prize.

Another one- You give everyone a cloth (i guess it could be disposable) and in only one of them put mustard and little seeds or whatever you want that looks like babys poo- and whoever has the poopy diaper wins a prize.

There are little book puzzle things (baby themed) you can get too and have everyone pair up with a partner and everyone has to do a certain puzzle, and the team that finishes first gets a prize.

Also- this isnt so much of a game- but at my shower, we had a little book that got passed around to everyone and it was like a little advice book- everyone wrote their advice and best wishes in there for me. It was great!

    Food-

We had just some fruit trays, veggie trays, some cheese trays, meat trays, and some little sandwiches you can buy at grocery stores. Also- I knew I was having a girl- so I looked up a pink kind of punch and we made that for drinks, but also had bottled water and pop. No alcohol though, lol.

Hope Ive given you some good ideas!

  4. I went to a baby shower a little while ago.

Here are some of the games they did:

Put a whole bunch of different baby products on a tray.  Get everyone together, give them a pen and paper, then have one person go around and show each person the tray.  Tell your guests to memorize as much as they can of what's there.  Once the tray has gone around, hide the tray and tell them to write down as much as they remember. Whoever gets the most correct answers wins a prize.

Another one they did which is gross but totally fun is to get a whole bunch of diapers and a whole bunch of different chocolate based candies (snickers, musketeers, baby ruth, kitkat, etc.) melt them a bit and smear each one in a diaper.  Then give each guest a piece of paper and pen, then pass each diaper around and tell the guests to smell and examine each diaper and guess what candy is in each one.  Whoever gets the most correct answers wins a prize.

    Good luck!

  5. What we did at a babyshower I help with was....

Games: We did a nursery rhyme fill in the blank.... We would ask questions like: What did the dish run off with.... A: The spoon

    stuff like that

Then there was a baby shower I went to which I really dont remember how the questions went but it was based on candy. Someone would ask a question or say a word and you would have to guess a candy that was close to that word... I don't know how to explain it too much... But who ever guessed it won that candy. It was really cute. I remember one was ... What do babies do?... A: Cry baby

And food.... I remember for my baby shower it was for my twins and it was a second shower so it wasn't as big... so it was just double themed... TWINkies.... Twix.... just little snacks... other than that for first baby showers ... we go all out with food. We ask the mommy to be what she would like to eat and everyone cooks and we have a feast!

One game I would never forget... My fiance got dragged into this.... Since it's usually women that participate in game.... this was for the guys... they filled a bottle with milk and they had to drink it... the prize?

A nice big bottle of Bacardi.... Now that's some motivation!

  6. At the same time, everyone gets a plastic cup with frozen water in it. This would have to be done the night before at least.  Anyways, everyone can use whatever part of their body (no hair dryers etc.) to try and get the ice to melt... whoever's ice melts first or "water breaks" wins the game.

To keep people interested in the presents being opened.  Present bingo, make blank bingo squares under a B I N G O everyone has to write in the name of gifts they thing she will get and watch for them, when a gift they have on their card comes up they put an X over it.  You can make it a straight line, four corners whatever you want... best to have a few so when someone wins at something you can still continue to play with the rest of the people...

If it's a smaller shower, you can get different size onesies and fabric paint and have everyone make their own onesie for baby to be.  Or you could have teams of people and mom to be vote on her fav for the winner.

As for food... no shower is complete without triangle sandwiches... usually tuna, salmon and egg salad... can also have ham etc.  whatever really as long as they're in a triangle.

    Good luck and have fun!

  7. Here are a couple games from my baby showers:

Take the labels off of the baby food jars, and pass them around. Have everyone taste it and guess what it is. Who ever has the most right wins.

Get two big bowls and a wodden spoon. Fill one bowl with cotton balls. Blind fold and scoop cotton ball from one bowl to the other. (Harder than it sounds!)

Start everyone off with a clothes pin. Everytime someone crosses their legs, they lose their pin. Last one with a clothes pin wins.
