  1. make SURE they get their medicine or they will be totally incontrollable. Don't raise your voice at them. that will only make things worse. Try to keep them occupied. It will be a lot easier on you. Try showing them a movie. Almost always works.

  2. Just be firm but patient. You may have to repeat yourself several times.

  3. Ask the child's parents.

  4. i babysit a 4 year old who is showing strong signs of ADHD and  usually it takes 2-3 times to tell him something before he listens. If he does not listen the first time, I send him to his room for 5 minutes and if he comes out before I tell him he can, he goes back for even longer. His biggest issue is screaming constantly, so for example, if he screams once I tell him to stop and if he screams again, I send him to his room. My biggest issue with him is repetition- it is something we're working on. It is almost like he doesn't even hear what I'm saying even though he's looking in my eyes sometimes. It can be really difficult- he's as sweet as can be though, and he tries so hard so it's hard for me to punish him. Good luck!!

  5. My 5 yo daughter has ADHD and I find the thing that works best with her to to be consistent. She does listen if I am firm and don't give into her.  The biggest thing is to keep him/her safe. My daughter is very hyper and sometimes tries to do things that could be dangerous. Just pay a lot of attention to the child. Ask the parents for any specific ideas or suggestions.

  6. now that is cool..haha
