  1. Honestly no i would not hire you. I don't think anyone would. And i am not trying to upset you but you are a bit young. I did not start babysitting until i was 14 years old and until i was 15 i was watched by an adult. When someone hires another kid to babysit for them they want the Teen to be a certain age. You are still a Kid. If an emergency came up you probably wouldn't know what to do especially watching their kids. So i would say no

  2. acctualy I would not hire you cause

    Here is 5 reasons :D

    1.I dont know you

2.you need to be at least 12 before you start to babysit

3.what if the baby was choking you would have to put your finger down his or hers throat to pull it out

4.what if the baby was drowning

5.what if the babt got hurt

and sometimes the paramedics take a long time to get there like once we called 911 at like 1:00 at night and they never came so we went back to bed.

  3. No, I would not hire you because you are not old enough, at least 13 years old to start. You also haven't taken a babysitting course. You can however, be a mothers helper. A mothers helper wacthes the kids while a parent is home cleaning, working in the yard, and things like that at home and can get the parents if something goes wrong. You are just too young to be a babysitter. Hope this helps.

  4. 4 kids is often too much for adults to handle, much less anyone else.

I would just do one or two at a time, for an hour or two at your age.

I would hire you for an hour or so.

I do think it would be a wise move for you to take a babysitting course and CPR/First Aid

  5. Maybe you could take some extra classes and do a little advertising and see what happens.

It would probably be a good idea to not take care of any babies under 1 year old, at least to start with. When I was 17 I was babysitting and the baby I was taking care of stopped breathing and turned blue and I had to do CPR on her and call 911 at the same time. She was okay, but the firemen told me that usually when a baby stops breathing, they don't start up again. It was very, very scary, even though it wasn't my fault at all and I did all the right things. The firemen were very nice and talked to the baby's parents for me, but it was very hard for me to even be around them after that- it was just way too scary. I don't know what I would have done if the baby had died.

You will definitely want to know how to do CPR and First Aid before you start babysitting for money. If something goes wrong and you're there by yourself, 911 may not be able to get there fast enough to help. Taking care of kids is a huge job. You can take those classes through the fire station, or through Camp Fire.

Actually, Camp Fire offers a really cool 2-day class on babysitting. I took it when I was 10. They teach you a lot of good skills, plus you get a certified card when you're done so that you can show parents that you are serious and will do a good job with their kids.

One more thing you might think about before going for a babysitting job- being a mother's helper. A lot of time young moms that have little kids are willing to pay to have someone come over and play with their kids in the afternoon so that they can take a nap. The mom would be home, so if you had a serious emergency you could wake her up and you wouldn't have to deal with it by yourself. That kind of job can actually be a really good starting point. I was a mother's helper for one family for two years, I just played with the kids and helped out with dishes and stuff like that, and it turned into a serious job as a nanny. I got paid over $1,000 per month working for them as a nanny!
