if my mom is working as a babysitter in someone else house paid by personal check or cash in california let say 500 dollars a month 4 days a week, is she eligible for food stamp?

  1. As far as the income amount yes but how old is she? If she is under 50 years old she will need to work 80 hours per month to get food stamps for longer than 3 months. After that 1st 3 months she will need to work and make at least minimum wage x 80 hours. The maximum income for 1 person is $1107 gross (good till 9/30/08). There are so many other rules that nobody can tell you for sure if she is eligible. She just needs to go in and try.


  2. if she's making $500 a month that's $,6000 a year...if a person make less than $14,000 a year, he/she is eligible for food stamp. Tell her to go to local food stamp brunch and apply for it she really needed. Good luck
