Babysitters in Germany?

Has anyone here ever worked as a babysitter in Germany? Please, tell me about your experience. If it wasn't in Germany, I would still like to know how it was like.

I have babysat in Germany, but that is just because I live there during the summer and the neighbors work then, but have little children.  It is pretty much like babysitting in the States, but if you mean being a live in nanny, or au pair I guess that would be different.  I speak German, and have lived there so I guess it would be pretty much like being a full tie baby sitter.  Germans are great people, at least once you get to know them and babysitting in another country would probably e a great experience.

I am German and I work as a babysitter.

I worked as a babysitter in two German families.

In one family I had to cook, and entertain the boys. In the other family I just had to look after a little toddler, while she was sleeping and was able to study or watch TV.

I got €5 per hour, what I think is a good average.
