Babysitting? Help please :)?

i am looking into babysitting...im 13 and have taken babysitting classes and a CPR class. i am going to make flyers to hang up around town and hand out at my moms work and my dads work...but my question is how much should i charge an hour? i have a bag full of fun stuff and videos and games for all ages. so how much do you think i shoud charge an hour??

7.15 as that is thr minimum wage and you are entitled to ATLEAST that much. I wouldnt suggest anything over due to the fact that you don't have much experience since you are onlt 13 yrs. Make sure on the flyers that you mention your bag full of goodies for the young ones so that the parents know that although you are 13, you have a good idea on what you are doing and that paying you isnt a waste!

I agree - ask around in your town to what is the norm. congrats for taking this so seriously. Think about what age group you are comfortable in babysitting as well and put that on your flyer ( I mean are you comfortable in changing baby/ toddler nappies/diapers,,, taking small toddlers to the toilet feeding with bottles or spoons..- or are you more comfortable with slightly older children - say 4 or 5 yrs old and up?)

Parents will trust you with thier children if you have a natural rapport with them and are eager to interact. find a family and offer free babysitting for a few sessions in return for a good reference or letter of recomendation.. good luck!

ask someone in your town and do some research. it is best if some body is charging $10/HR you charge $9 so that you have more chances to get a hit. well it also depends upon the age of a child u r babysitting. it the child is 3-5 charge more than if it is 6-10. and give some discount to a family who have two or more children! i worked for me and i hope it work 4 u 2!~     if you are babysitting early hours say 7-12 charge more than if it is afternoon hours. make a sheet so u do not get confused if some body asks about the rates. do not advertise tour rates on flayers but just write call for the rates and so so.   god luck!

I am 13 and I charge $6 per hour for 1 child and $7 for 2.
