I am a girl aged 13 and I have to babysit my coisins for 2 days each week in the school holidays. They are both boys and are active and can be a handful! They are 8 and 10. Their parents will be leaving for work before 7am and won't come back till around 5pm. I will have to make them breakfast and lunch and sleepover and keep them entertained all day. I was wondering should I have my best friend help me- she is great with children but i will have to half the money and I don't know if my auntie will want her to stay over!? But i have never babysat alone this long! HELP! (Thanks in advance!)

  1. tell her to hire a professional babysitter, you are obviously way too emotionally immature to watch them.

  2. at 13 it is a must you have your friend stay with you. Or why don't you suggest they stay at your house so you will have added back up ( your parents) if things get out of hand.

  3. Well, if youre worried about keeping them in line let your aunt know..If not just ask her if you can have your friend over to help you, but the question is, will you be hanging out with your friend instead of watching them?

  4. You should definitely tell your auntie that you are a little nervous about being with the kids that long.

  5. It couldn't hurt to ask.  If you are really that nervous about it, then it should be worth halving the money with your friend.  So I would advise asking your aunt if she would be OK with your friend assisting you.  If you think about it more and think you can do it alone, then go for it!  Plan their meals, and ask your aunt for advice on how to keep them entertained all day.  For example, ask what their limitations are, because kids sometimes stretch the truth and say they can do things they are really not allowed to, and so on.  You'll do great. :)

  6. Given their age and that they are both active boys, I think having your best friend help you would be a great idea. Splitting the money shouldn't be that big of a problem, since your aunt and uncle should be paying you pretty well for the hours... If your friend proves to your aunt and uncle that she is a responsible babysitter, I'm certain that they will let her help out. Good luck!
