Babysitting: How much should I charge?

Question

I have a 22 month old son myself and my husbands co-worker wants me to babysit his two year old son (turning two this weekend) and his six month old daughter. It would be Mon-Fri/ 1:30pm-12:30am.

I'm not sure what to charge since I don't know any babysitters and I've never taken my son to a daycare..

Its not a very good time to babysit! Wow ive babysat for like 6 years as a job pretty much (over 10 different families) and thats a long, tiring day. THink of labour, time, effort (how good are the kids), costs of food and stuff like that)...I got paid 5 bucks an hour...but you have a family of your own...10 seems reasonable...and you should charge per hour. That way if they get off work early, its easy to figure out how much

You shouldn't think of it as hourly. When you're babysitting for an extended period of time on a regular basis it should be daily or weekly. It kinda depends on how much you think the person can afford. I think atleast $30 per night. If you think he can afford more, go for it but I wouldn't push $50 per night.

at your age and having a child yourself you must have some experience in this area!

umm the average for your kind of resume could range from 15-20 dollars an hour!

Well considering you are no child maybe 8.50-9.50? it really depends on what you would be doing.. for example washing dishes, driving them places, meals, putting to sleep, bathes...etc.

10 dollars per hour its not that hard to babysit kids for a while i have like a small job of babysiting!!lotsof money roll in $$$
