Babysitting Problem!?!?!?

I have babysat for this family of four twice, once two weeks ago as and emergency and just Wednesday. She had asked me to ask babysit this Friday, but canceled on Wed. and on Wed. asked me to babysit that day, making me rush through two appts. I know that I could have said no, but I needed the money to pay for new sneakers. When I first started babysitting for her she told me she paid ten dollars a hour. I am 13 and she got my number from close neighbors who Ive babysat for only twice. I have also babysat another family once or twice and my sisters multiple times. When she told me that she paid that was polite and said that that was very generous. Yesterday without telling me, she had her neice over, and apperently that she was there for the month and I would be babysitting her. That means five kids. I was prepared by I wasnt thrilled to be that overwellemed. I was there from 2-5. But by the time she drove me home it was 5:30. I got thirty bucks that day. She asked me to go back next week on a convienet day for me, should I talk to her about my charges? Im 13, but I have experiance and can hanle the kids.

They are:

A 2 Year Old Boy (Still In Diapers)

A Four Year Old Girl

A Six Year Old Aggressive Boy

An Eight Year Old Girl (Very Helpful)

And The Cousin Who Is Nine Or Ten (Girl)

Is Ten Dollars Not Enough?

Help!

  1. just remind her of your agreement & since there is now one more child for you to watch that you would like a little more $ for watching the

    children

    good luck :>)

  2. 10$ hr is good u should get paid for the half hour u watched them also.

  3. Just honestly tell her u need more money and that u deserve it for watching five kids. Any reasonable adult would agree.

  4. Ive had problems very similar to this. It took me ages to find a way to confront this woman but in the end i am glad i did.

Just casually bring up how hard it is to look after so many kids and then steer the conversation towards things like needing to do homework and other commitments ect. Then hint about your lack of money.....

    That worked for me lol

If not, just go the  adult way about it and ask her very politely if she would consider paying you more for the amount of work you have to do whilst looking after so many kids.
