Babysitting Questions?

Question

A lady at my church asked me if I would babysit for her now and then. I just need to know what kind of activities can I do with the kids? Her daughter is around 11 years old and her son is around 7 years old.

Also, I thought it might've been a little rude to bring up right when she asked me, but how much should I expect to get paid?

i really don't know much about babysitting but i know you shouldn't go up to demanding triple digits. I would say about 10-30$ an hour. I don't know what to do with activities except to just keep them occupied.  Try board games or if they have a t.v. put on something they like. Can I be the best answer I just created my account.

Start at smallest price possible. This will keep her coming back to you. I think that $6/hour would be fine price. If the lady seems a little on the rich side ask for $7.

I think you should just ask the kids what they want to do. Ask the mom if it is okay to take them out (swimming, park, backyard, etc)

They're pretty big. They probably won't want to do anything together anyway. The girl might want to have a "sleepover" type thing where you can do hair, bake, talk about boys.

The boy will probably want to play video games or draw or Legos or something.

You could also suggest cards (simple games of course), a movie (pop some popcorn), make a snack (like chex mix), or solve a puzzle.

And try to get them to read! The parent would love it

I would ask what their favorite things to do are. Its a subtle way to say I don't know what to do.

You could color, paint, play ball, play cards, hide and seek, etc. Just use your imagination!

Take a good movie and maybe a video game that they might like.

And anyone that is taking care of kids should get paid at least 1,000,000 dollars.     hahaha
