Babysitting Tips?

I'm 13 years old and I got a babysitting job. I've never babysitted before, except my little brother. I'm babysitting two little girls. One of them is about 6, I'm guessing and the younger one is about 3-4 years old. Please offer me some tips! I start tomorrow! Thanks so much. :)

  1. Play dress up! Be careful with makeup...some parents are picky about that...ask mom about it first. Be sure you're going to do things to make the day fun for them. Because they are paying you for that. Also, don't eat in front of them unless you'll feed them the same thing too. Bring movies and toys in a box, they'll always want to play with the things in it because it is yours and it never stays at their house. So it's new everytime you bring it over!  Tell them stories...Not necessarily out of a book, but kids generally love them. Especially if you do the voices right... and play outside as  much as you can to make them tired enough for nap or bedtime. Parents will appreciate that. Usually.

Defenitly get phone numbers you'll need and the address of the place where you're babysitting. Good luck!

  2. Make sure you get a cell phone number and where the parents will be at...what time to expect them home.  Ask if they have a routine and try to stick to that...especially bed time.  Try not to let them talk you into too many sweets.  Just have fun. Keep things indoors and all doors locked.  There are a ton of things you can do. Give them a makeover..bring some makeup and do their hair...let them do yours.  Pick out some nice books in their age range at the library.

  3. well, play around give them snacks not to many sweets, naps outside time,TV,computers. if too scared to babysit don't call job off,ask a friend to help that has babysitting experience it will be fun, just relax

  4. Whatever you do, make sure the children are safe.  Do not take your eyes off them and do not leave them alone.  Have all numbers ready and know when to ask for help.

  5. just DONT lose your temper!  you may feel frustrated but whatever you do, DONT lose your cool.  itd be great if you could bring a friend with you since youve never babysat before!
