Babysitting a 5 year old girl- things to do?

Question

I will be babysitting a 5 year old girl every Friday of this summer. I'll have her this Friday from 7 in the morning until 5:30. She's a really sweet girl and pretty outgoing. Any ideas of fun things to keep her occupied?

Kids this age LOVE craft projects. fruit loop necklaces and bracelets, making paper chain links...you can search for pre-school craft ideas/projects or day care craft ideas/projects and you will get SOOOOO many ideas.

Something I like to do with little ones is to have them make up their own book. They tell the story (you write it down) and then they draw and color pictures to go along with it. It's also something the parents would love to keep. Most kids seem to love arts and crafts.  A few little simple projects are getting out some noodles, popcorn, scrap paper, fabric, cheerios, cereal, and some glue and let her glue them to paper to make pictures. You can just offer one item a week with the glue to keep it new and fun. Just a few ideas:) Have fun!
