Hi, I'm thinking about joining this program online that gives you babysitting jobs in your area. I want to work with kids from ages 3-10. I want to have some fun activities that I can do with them (besides watchin g tv) that are fun!

Any idea?!?

Thanks!!

  1. Coming from a babysitter of 5 years, bring some of your old toys and videos--kids LOVE when they have new stuff to play with.

  2. I am also a member of sittercity.com and have had great results! I have a sitter bag that I take with me regardless of where I go. The first time, I explain to them that I will always have my bag with me and every time I see them, there will be something different in it. They cannot touch the bag, or look in it, because it's my secret bag. They get excited about it regardless of what's in it, and everytime I go back, I have my bag and that's the first thing they ask about. I always have some type of experiment or something that's hands on, not just coloring or doodling or a video. I absolutly love hands-on stuff. Air dry clay for them to make something for their mom and dad, moon sand, food coloring and water with test tubes, a special kind of paint (such as puffy paint or something different other than watercolors) or a kids camera, a bug house, and a magnifying glass so we can go out on a nature hunt. they can take pictures of anything that they find. One time I sent them a picture that they took in the mail, and they abosulty loved it!! There are a bazillion things to do other than watch tv!! Good luck!!

  3. this would be more for 7- 10 year olds - Pinata - you would get it in birthday shops- you just fill it with some sweets and the chlidren take turns and hit it three times..... until some hits the part that triggers the sweets to come out, they will love it !

get them to make stuff, paint, draw.

some girls like getting there nails painted and hair done ( girly things)

i look after my freinds brother ( he's three), he loves going down to the beach, playing in them yellow cars, drawing.

hide and seek is also another good game .

  4. have a scavenger hunt! its real fun and will keep the kids busy. hide things like red crayon or blue marker and whoever brings back the most stuff gets a special prize! or you could also let them draw a picture and everyone gets something for doing good. also, you can (during nap time) wake up a  kid at a time and let them choose a paint color to make a handprint and hang it on the wall. i used to do this stuff so its no big. its real fun when they try :)

    good luck!

  5. One week on historical characters - have them dress up with old clothes from a bag with shoes and hats - on another day, use magazines to glue cut out pictures to a poster board of their historical character - make sand pictures  (liquid glue with sand)...

One week on musical instruments - have a visitor come and perform - make them draw a picture of a musical instrument and line them with elbow macaroni using glue - use toilet paper rolls and vegetable empty cans and make a noise maker -

    tons of stuff to do...

I make my own with the outcome of these:  http://www.shapeupshop.com/games/bean_ba...
