I'm 13 years old and both my parents work. During the day I have to babysit my little brother, he's 8. I don't know what to do with him. I want to hang out, and spend time with him. He can't play video games and my parents don't want us to be outside a lot because they're not home. Any ideas of what we can do? Please help.

  1. My son loved board games at that age, maybe Life, Monopoly or Battleship-Scrabble, he's old enough for these and he'll LOVE the attention...good luck-little boys are VERY difficult ones to know what the heck to do with, and I'm a Mom of one!!lol..Also, you sound like a wonderful big sister, actually CARING this much about your brother!!! You go girl!!

  2. Finger paint..I don't care how old you are that is always FUN!

If you are allowed to use the oven make cookies....With parents permission!

  3. me and my lil bro have a span of 5 years between us and i had to babysit him and my lil sister alot too..........board games and card games are the best thing to do....also ask your parents if you can go to the pool(if you live close enough or if you have a pool)..watch movies together...make some snacks together............good luck

  4. Im 12 nearly 13 and i Have to babysit my brothers aged: 10, 6 and 2.

What i sugest you can do is too: sit down and read him some stories, Make imaginary games up, sing nursery rymes or ask him about his day at school.

I do these things when i have to babysit my little brothers.

  5. My sister used to play doctors and nurses with me from about 5 years old, loved that game lol, still do

  6. Watch TV for a little while,  play games, make snacks together, play on the computer if your allowed to.

  7. Board Games

    Card Games

See if yall can rearrange your bedroom or his

    Make fun snacks together

    Make a movie

  8. You can make a house with chairs and blankets, you can play tic tac toe for a bit, teach her things like help him read, do maths, teach him about animals or stuff.

  9. play games

  10. Read....

    And go on adventures.

For instance, read Treasure Island.  After finishing a few chapters, put a broom between the couch cushions for a mast, and then build a 'cabin' on the boat with an old blanket.

Then read a few more chapters.

Then dress up, an old belt, a yardstick or ruler for a sword, an eye patch....

Then read a few more chapters......

    Get the idea?

There are hundreds of good books, and thousands of adventures to go on.  Read Dr. Jekyll and make a lab, create some "potions" out of different flavors of coolaid.

Your brother will have a blast and the two of you will find that books and imagination can be a lot more fun then video games and the internet.

  11. Easy - Ask him what he wants to do.

Play games - board games, sporty games - like catch, skipping,

    Read books together, sing, dance.

Spend an hour doing things he likes and another hour things that you like.

You can have fun together. I do.

  12. Play a lot of bord games like the ones that take a very long time...... Also a fun game is hide things around the house and have him find them, my little sister loves that game!

    HAVE FUN!!!!!

  13. You can play board games, card games, maybe teach him poker if you know how to and your parents allow it. Listen to music, and dance around with him. Good for you for wanting to spend time with him!
