  1. For 2 children under the age of 8 I would charge 12 to 14 dollars over I would charge 10 to 12. The more children the more responsibility and work.

  2. I think this depends on a few things. I live in New York and charge $10.00-$12.00/hour (depending on the age and number of kids). But I am Red Cross certified in: Babysitting, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard and Advanced First Aid. I also have years of experience working in a nursery.

Having certifications gives you more weight to ask for a higher pay rate. If parents are reluctant, remind them about your certifications. That piece of mind should be worth a higher rate.

If you are young (12-16) and have no certifications or little experience, it might be bold of you to ask for more than $8.00/hour.

If you don't have any first aid certifications it is always worth getting them. Kids put things in their mouth they shouldn't and fall a lot, so knowing CPR and First Aid is smart.

  3. The younger the kids the more the work.. Take into consideration are they eating your food, are they potty trained, do they need lots of attention? It is very important not to over extend yourself.  If if is 2 toddlers$12-$15 is realistic, go down with the age.  If it is a baby you need to charge atleast $15 because they do need alot of care and attention.

  4. well when i babysit i usually get 20.00 for like 4 hours bu thats with 4 kids. so i would say half of that but then that seems to low so probably12.00. i hope that helps. But im not in new york im on michigan.
