  1. well what i always do is pack a "sitters" pack just put in numerous activities to do such as: coloring books, play dough, Ur Tye die kit, board games, treasure hunts and more i also have a bunch of games children i babysit LOVE to play and ingredients to make play dough which is always fun so if u want more hit me up hope this hep ls bye =]

  2. hmmm, well try asking what they like.

    maybe try:

    board games

    outdoor activities

    ???

  3. If there's a stream nearby you can try making popsicle stick boats. I did that with my neighbors when I had to babysit them all summer. The boats dont float too well, but it keeps them busy trying to decorate them and such.

Also, when I was little my sitter had me go on a nature walk. We collected leaves and flowers. Then i took crayon shavings and ironed the flowers and crayon shavings between wax paper. Its really fun and it gets the kids outside.

  4. wow, that's a long time! Heres some ideas: chalk drawings, hopscotch, jump rope, hide and seek, easy game board, do each others hair and paint each others nails, go-fish with cards, paint, color, play with their dolls, dress up, charades, the 7 and 9 year olds could read a book while you read to the 5 year old, make cookies by scratch and have a tea party or home made ice cream (sounds complicated but you just put the ingrediants in a bag and take turns shaking it while you watch T.V), puzzles (you can help the 5 yr. old with an easy puzzle while the 7 and 9 yr. old do their own), play-doh, modeling clay, puppet show.

  5. Make sugar cookies and decorate them.  I've been an nanny for 5 years, and I've never met a kid who didn't like to make cookies.  They love cutting them out and love decorating them even more.

Just buy the premade dough (for three girls, I think about two should cover it), a whole bunch of white frosting (3-4 tubs), and the pastel dye kit (they make the best colors!).  Mix the frosting in different cups and zip lock bags (just cut off the tips, you don't need to be fancy).  Let them decorate!

You can also buy a tub of really cheap sprinkles from the Target $1 section.

That'll shave off at least 2 hours, but probably more.

Got any cool board games?  5 is the perfect age to start learning board games--and 4 is a great number to play.

    --------------------------------------...

Paper dolls!  The little girls I babysat loved paper dolls.  Takes me back to my childhood and teaches them to play with minimal resources.

    --------------------------------------...

Pinecones + Peanut Butter + Bird Seed = bird feeders.

    --------------------------------------...

Hide and go seek!  That's my favorite game to play because kids get so excited.  And rightfully so.

For added fun, wait until it gets dark outside, put away all the valuables and breakables, turn off the lights, and play a game of sardines:  One person hides while everyone else counts.  When you find the one person, you hide with them.  The last person to find the group is the hider next round.

  6. omg girl,

i do the same thing but what i do is i say what do you whant to do? they tell you(ofcourse) but if its something like paint the walls or throw food out the window at birds then say "how about we play hide and seek if they say no then say how about tag again if they say no then ask them if there hungry if they say no then say how about t.v. if they say no then say its nap time and if they arnt tired then say to bad! also say i gave you a choice its one of thoughs and if they say no lets play with my dolls or something like that then say ok go get them! or theyll say something you allready suggested!
