Babysitting $$?

What do you think would be a proper amount of money to charge someone for babysitting their two kids (about 4 and 6) per hour? Two 15 year-olds will be babysitting.

I had a pair of former students that enjoyed babysitting together.  They were a pair of 8th graders.  They also knew that they were not making a whole lot of money.  $20 for each girl-and we were usually out for about 4 hours, give or take.  So it was on the cheaper side if you break it down it would be $5/hour.   But it was the arrangement I had with them and they were fine with it.  

You might want to ask the girls if they would be OK with a set fee for the evening.

If its babies, I usually charge $7.50 to $8 per hour... but if they are older I usually do $7.

I would say 5$ to 7$ an hour since there are two kids, but do not pay double the price of one babysitter, for example, if you were gone for 5 hours and you were paying $5 per hour, then it would be 25$. But do not pay that to each kid babysitting, only one person is needed to babysit 2 kids so divide that money in half and pay that to each, so it would be 12.50$ for each in that scenario. And since they are 15 the money is not a high concern for them so they do not need a high pay.

It might just be the area I live in, but you can not find a babysitter for less than $10-$12 dollars an hour (up to $15 an hour on a Friday or Saturday night.)

I do agree, though, that the money should not be doubled for having 2 sitters.
