I'm babysitting my boyfriend's hairless dumbo rat and I can't get him to eat or drink anything. Will he be ok until tomorrow night when he comes to get him? How can I get him to at least drink water? Should I be worried?

  1. rats usually eat and drink at night, from what i've noticed. Don't worry about it. if your still concerned, mark the amount of water in the bottle if it hasn't go down the tinest bit by tomorrow morning, warn your boyfriend.

  2. Well, try to give him a hard-boiled egg, my hammy loves the egg whites, and if he has a water bottle, try to hold it near his mouth.

  3. How do you know it isn't drinking or eating? It might be doing it when you're not looking. Try it with a piece of boiled egg (my rat used to go mad for a just set but still a bit gooey yolk) or fruit.

He'll drink when he's thirsty. How long have you been looking after him?

  4. If the rat is not wanting to play maybe. put the water in the cage and just let him/her be for a little if the rat still not ok call your boyfriend, see if that's normal.
