Arsenal’s Bacary Sagna feels that his injury has made him a much better player, as he got study his mistakes during his time on the side lines.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bacary-Sagna-c7148 went on to suffer a horrific injury against Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the season, as the defender went on to fracture his ankle.
As a result of that injury, the full back was ruled out of action for nearly four months. However, the French international is finally fit once again and went on to join up with the starting eleven this past weekend.
Despite being injured for so long, the defender feels that he has actually improved as a player, instead of losing his touch.
The Frenchman explained that with the amount of games he watched on TV and from the stands, he felt like he could see openings and areas of the pitch that he never saw when he was playing.
Not only has he been taking notes, but he has also been assessing himself, while trying to find ways to minimize his setbacks while being on the pitch.
When explaining the new prospective that he had developed and how he tried to focus on improving himself, Sagna is quoted to have said: "I’ve watched many games, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and others, and when you’re standing with the crowd it’s totally different"
"You can see open spaces that you can’t when you’re on the pitch because the angles are different. What looks easy when you’re watching a game is often more difficult on the pitch, and you realise why supporters get nervous when you do certain things. I
think I understand that more now.”
"I always look at other right backs, what they do well and what they don’t, so hopefully I’ve picked up some new things for my game too."
Sagna went on to make a cameo appearance against Aston Villa in the FA Cup and then went on to feature against Manchester United. During those games, the player’s performance was outstanding and he seemed to be giving a hundred percent.
All in all, with Sagna now back for the Gunners, it is safe to say their defence is finally looking far more stable than it did a couple of weeks ago.
