Arsenal defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bacary-Sagna-c7148 has admitted that he is delighted to have returned to first team football, following a four month lay-off due to a broken ankle.
Sagna went on to suffer a horrific leg injury against Tottenham Hotspur, when they met the Gunners earlier in the season.
Following an collision with a Tottenham defender, the Arsenal full-back managed to land very awkwardly on the floor and ended up breaking his ankle in the process.
As a result of his injury, the defender was out of action for four months, but seemed desperate to get back to full fitness so he could play once again.
The defender made his long awaited comeback in Arsenal’s FA Cup game against Aston Villa, as he came on to make a very short appearance near the end of the game.
However, his return was even more joyous as Arsenal beat Villa by three goals to two in the game.
When talking about his return to the team and how difficult it was for him to sit on the sidelines for so long, Sagna is quoted to have said: "I am absolutely delighted"
"It's been quite difficult all these months - four is a long time.
"I just needed to get back as quick as possible and now I finally am. Now I just need to work even harder to get back because I have only had two training sessions and it is not easy. But I will do it.
"I will still work with the fitness coach but I will only get fit by playing games. I am just biding my time to start a game now but I am not rushing. I just want to give the maximum to get myself into the best position.”
With Sagna now back, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 can finally stop using all their centre backs at the same time. The Gunners were forced to play central defenders as their full-backs, given the injuries that the players suffered.
However, with Sagna now back, it is safe to say that some of those problems would no longer exist and at the same time, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 would get the support that he had been craving for on the right wing, during Sagna’s absence.
