Arsenal defender, Bacary Sagna, has let it slip that his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 in the summer transfer window. Sagna’s comments on Fabregas’ ambitions will not go down well with manager, Arsene Wegner, who has been adamant that the midfielder
will not be leaving the club anytime soon.
The incident marks the latest episode of the Fabregas transfer saga, which started at the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Spaniards were triumphant in the World Cup, and ever since that time, the midfielder has been hungry for more glory.
It is no secret that Fabregas has been aching to rejoin his boyhood club, Barcelona, for the better part of a year. The fact that Arsenal had not won a single piece of silverware in five years would undoubtedly have been a factor in his decision. However,
Gunners boss, Arsene Wenger, has been has been blocking the 24-year-old’s move back to Spain.
The Gunners endured yet another trophyless campaign in the 2010/11 season, taking their tally to six consecutive years without silverware. It seems that Fabregas’ patience with the London side has now run out.
Arsenal defender, Bacary Sagna, has revealed that Fabregas wants to leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window to rejoin Barcelona. Sagna said, “I can say it’s true that Cesc wants to go to Barca. Fabregas wants to return to his country of
birth, to his city, where his family are. He wants to play for one of the best teams in the world, Barcelona, and that’s understandable.”
It remains to be seen whether or not Fabregas will be reunited with his former teammates at the Nou Camp. However, given Arsene Wegner’s track record, a deal does not seem to be on the cards. Sagna concluded, “At the moment, however, he is still Arsenal’s
captain."
Arsenal finished the 2010/11 Barclays Premier League campaign in fourth place and Wenger looks to reinforce the squad to launch a title push in the upcoming season.
