Question:

Bachelor of Arts (Psychology)..what type of jobs can be taken?

my nephew is going to graduate soon in B.A. (Psychology) degree soon in UWS (this is in Australia) but now is wondering what type of jobs can he have with his degree..

he knows he cant be a full pledge psychologist (he needs a masters for that)..but rather he doesnt know what jobs are related to his course..

  1. He could go into the corporate world. Not in accounting or financing or anything that requires a specialty, but the truth is there are many corporate jobs that require a bachelor degree. They don't care if its in philosophy, they just care that you have a four year degree.

    The four year degree is now seen as a complete general education. So maybe he could get an internship, not in psychology but an internship that could get him work experience. Make him go see the career section of his college to see what internships and jobs he could get with it.

    All hope is not lost just because he has a B.A. in psychology, he just needs to get a little savvy and he'll be okay. If you also want you can check out internet job sites like monster.com.


  2. Counselor.

    Honestly, there isn't much. He should just start working for that Master's because courses like Psych, Poli Sci, History, English, and others along those lines only pay off with a master's or some other kind of graduate program.
