I was wondering if anyone could help me out....I always thought that if you had a Bridal Shower, than guests wouldn't bring gifts to the wedding, but now some of my friends are telling me different. And my friend says the bride should receive gifts at her Bachelorette Party, is that true? Any help would be greatly appreciated! :-)

  1. Yes, this is true... Typical Bachelorette party gifts are s**y lingerie, gift certificates for lingerie, couple games and other items for the Bride and Groom personally.

  2. usually for the bridal shower you get her a gift off her registry for the wedding you usually give cash as a gift. and for the bachelorette party i dont think you have to but maybe you can get her like a "funny" gift or like some bath stuff from bath and body works or have allthe girls give like $10 and get her a gift card to victorias secret.

  3. maybe my family is just anti gift giving because i've never heard of that. I always thought that a bridal shower was just to get together, organize the wedding and then have a few gifts if someone bought them, the rest of us just give cards with cash.

the bachelorette party was just an excuse to go out, and celebrate the joy of being done planning everything

and the wedding is where you got the real gifts, kitchen ware, china, vacum cleaners, ect... or more cash if you are having a destination wedding.

but like i said, my family my just be different.

  4. Let me break it down

Wedding shower: You can register for and the woman will come and bring you gifts. If you dont't register then they will bring you randome girls.

Bachelorette party: Ther might just get you a couple of party things but not gifts. Like a blow up doll, pay for you're drinks and cover ect.

The wedding: You always get something, its money. Just because they buy you a shower gift they also give the couple a wedding gift. A shower girls is mostly for you, thats why you have the shower 3-4 months b4 the wedding.

  5. No people will usually bring gifts to both or give money. There is no need to bring a gift to a bachlorette party. Maybe buy the bride a drink or something. I think its asking way too much.

  6. shower- gifts for bride or things from the regisrty

batchlorette- small fun gifts if any

    wedding, regisrty gifts and cash

  7. I haven't read all the other answers, but I'm guessing we probably all say the same thing.  The bridal shower is to "shower" the couple with items for their new home.  That's why they register.  The bachelorette party is just for the bride and gifts are usually more "fun" (think s**y pj's, bath & body, etc) and are viewed as optional to some (I just can't show up to a party empty-handed), and for the wedding, people give gifts to the newlyweds usually in the form of money.

  8. Proper etiquette requires that you bring a gift to the bridal shower (for the bride or her new home - ask the hostess if it is a "personal" or "housewares" shower) and a gift for the couple to the wedding. Some bachelorette parties include gift-giving, for example at a lingerie party or something. But if you're just going out for drinks and dancing, gifts may not be expected. When in doubt, always talk to the hostess about what kind of gifts would be appropriate.

  9. the way i think it is, is, that the bridal shower is gifts for the bride(teddy's, toys things like that) the wedding is a gift for the couple, home, etc. bachelorette party really no gifts but your friends buy you drinks and dinner things like that!!

you also dont want to seem to greedy and seem like you have to get a gift for all of them!!

  10. I always thought the bride got gifts at the shower and wedding.  When I think of the bachelorette party, I think its more the girls giving the bride gifts that shouldn't be opened in front of your grandma. I'm thikning something like lingerie or other "fun" stuff for the honeymoon.
