Question:

Bachelorette party ideas?

OK, I've been to about 4 bachelorette parties and they are all p***s themed! Is there not any other cute/fun theme out there? I am my best friend's maid of honor and I have to plan this thing...me and her both agreed that although the p***s theme was funny at one point in time, we want something different for hers. We both think the p***s-theme is over done and a little trashy.

Please give me any ideas, games, etc...thanks!

  1. make it a s*x in the City theme! that is super hot right now- maybe start off at the house for cosmos- all pink decorations and city scapes (know anyone that lives in a downtown area that will host it at their pad?), then maybe off to the theater to see the movie then head out to some fancy martini joints for a few drinks. have all the guests dress as if they were Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte- fancy purses and designer shoes! you can play trivia games about the show or about the bride to be. have a tree of wisdom- get some bigger tree branches and stick them in a vase, cut out a bunch of hearts from constuction paper and use pieces of pipe cleaners to make a hook to hang them on the tree- each guest then will write down words of wisdom for the bride to be about her upcoming marriage (looks really neat) then she can take all the hearts home with her! you can also make a martini glass for each guest as a party favor for attending- pick up martini glasses from the dollar store one for each guest, then pick up a paint pen form the craft store in either the pink colors or the wedding colors and write nicely on each glass the names of the bride and groom and the date of the wedding, decorate with other colors poka dots or whatever you want to jazz them up a bit, tie on pretty ribbon and super glue it towards the top of the glass stem. then make a big batch of a specialty martini in a pitcher for easier serving- have it chilled beforehand. make appetizers- whatever you want. make a really cute invitation to relate the party to the s*x in the city theme.

  2. Here are some ideas

Guys Weekend theme - Vegas or Casino night, sports and beer - replicate a boys night out.

(if you want to include a stripper pole have at it)

Slumber Party & Spa - Play Mystery Date, watch 13 going on 30, Have converasions - Like when I grow up, i am going to be, do crafts like create the man of your dreams using magazines, rate a date (or guys in magazines. etc...)

and the go to a spa the next day.

Wine Tasting and girls night out - Do the Scavenger hunt or bar dares or photos with type of event (where he has to get photos with a policeman, a person in leather, bouncer, a hot guy kissing her but, etc...

Do a Food and wine party hire a personal chef and a wine expert.

Maybe do a Down and Dirty bachelorette party where you do something for charity first and then go out and have fun.

  3. I did one for my friend at a place called Jillian's.  The girls all went out to dinner...the guys all went out to dinner and we all met up at this place called Jillian's...it's a game/food/drink/bar place that was a lot of fun.

I like the Spa Party idea.  Relaxing, nice, fun...sounds cool.

  4. A Spa Bachelorette Party: Plan a day at a local day spa, or even better, at one that requires a weekend road trip. Massages, facials, mud baths, seaweed wraps, manicures, pedicures - any of these permit plenty of time for the girls to share thoughts and laughs together. The bride will appreciate the stress-buster, and you all may find great new looks for the wedding day. It can be as extravagant as going to a resort for a pampering weekend, and as simple as gathering at someone’s house to paint each other’s nails and eat delicious food.

  5. I SO agree with you about the p***s theme and am SO glad none of my friends did that, I feel for you!

What we've done is everyone pitch in and rent a limo and go out to a night on the town, out to dinner and dancing.

You can do a dinner cruise which is always nice.  Check to see if you have any around you, at night it's so nice to be out on the boat.

I LOVE the idea of a spa day, which is relaxing for everyone.  Wedding planning is stressful on the maid of honor too, I've been one a few times, along with being a bridesmaid a few times, so I know!  You can also get places to do spa treatments at your house, they only do home spa parties, check your yellow pages to see if there's any in your area.

You can do a nice restuarant either a favorites of the bride to be, or somewhere she's always wanted to go, and everyone chip in and go there.

What about somewhere fun, like an amusement park?  You can go there for the afternoon and then out to dinner.

You can go away for an all girls weekend, pick a place and everyone chip in and do a weekend getaway, not something that's expensive, somewhere within a few hours of where you live, so it's not too much and go and have fun!

What about a show, is there a show or concert that the bride to be wants to see? You can do that and dinner.

I hope some of these ideas help and that you have a great party with your friend!

For games, I've heard of a scavenger hunt where the bride to be is given a list and has to go into places whether it be bars or restuarants and has to ask for one thing on her list at each place.  Like at a bar, she would have to ask for a whole lemon, and the next place a whole lime.  Anything that would get laughs from everyone and get her strange looks and at the end of the night she has to collect everything on her list.  She can only get one thing from each place though, and the list can be made by you or the entire bridal party.  Make it fun!  It's fun to watch her go and ask for those things!  LOL  And she has to bring them back to you and the rest of the party, so at the end of the night, she has a collection of everything on the list!

You can also get her the hat, and shirt, etc, that says bride to be, or last night out, etc. Make her wear them for her last night out.  You can get them at party stores or online bridal shops or online party stores.

  6. I am with you on the p***s thing, that ended being funny when I was 16...

the last bachelorette party I threw - there were thirteen of us - we went to dinner, gave naughty lingere/lotions to her for the wedding night/ went to a night club that I arranged to get the cover knocked off and they set up a drink special for us.  she had a scavenger hunt that she had to do during the evening - stand on a table and dance, do a shot, take your bra off in public, get a phone number, etc. (you can get them in kits on line or at an adult store).

We just really went out and went someplace that was good for single gals, also was good for married or taken ones, and had fun.  the only thing that was planned was dinner and the dance club since she liked to dance.
