Question:

Bachelorette party meal planning?

by  |  earlier

I'm throwing a bachelorette party this weekend. We will be having a nice dinner (and cocktails!) before going out on the town. There will be about ten girls and I won't have a long time to do any prep work. Any menu ideas?

I'll probably do buffet style with a lot of munchy food (rum-soaked watermelon, various dips), but I'm at a loss for the actual meal. Ideas?

  1. For my friend's bachelorette party I did cocktail weiners and meatballs (I'm hoping you can pick up on the symbolism there) in a really good barbeque sauce, but we were going for a more cheesy vibe for the entire party.

    Some other ideas:

Meat, cheese, and buns on a tray for make it yourself sandwiches are not that creative, but always fail safe and easy main meals

Barbeque pork/beef (just toss everything into a crock pot and let it cook when you're getting ready), again not creative but failsafe

Rotisserie chicken from your local deli is fairly cheap and a decent choice

Could always just order a few pizzas or a dish or two from your friend's favorite restaurant

Good luck and have a lot of fun!!

  2. Put together Baked ziti or a lasagna during the day and just bake it later.

  3. Seared pork tenderloin, roasted red potatoes and a spring

    salad.  Calorie friendly:-)

  4. Easiest path is to order from your favorite local restaurant.  Catering prices are often very reasonable & make your life so much easier.  Use your own dishes to make it look nicer & homemade!  I have been to parties that served Italian, Chinese & even Mexican with a taco bar.

You can still make some of your dips, serve fruit & if you have the gift, bake a cake or dessert.

  5. for my sister, i did BBQ sandwiches and potato salad with a side salad. it was easy and quick so we could hurry and get to the partying

  6. I have recently been to two bachelorette parties, one i threw.

One menu was a buffet style of mexican and margaritas we had chicken fajitas chips dip rice and guac. Very simple and yum. (the brides fav drink was margaritas)

The other one was a little more sophisticated but still easy to throw together.

    Mini gourmet pizzas

    Spinach citrus salad

    veggie tray

    mini cheesecakes

    various cheeses and fruit tray

    Wine

If youre interested in any let me know and ill get you the recipes.

    Good luck

  7. how about doing a tray of sandwich stuff to make your own sandwich, or like above the taco or nacho bar is always a hit- have the meat, nacho cheese, Spanish rice, refried beans going in crock pots and have all the rest of the fixins out like lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, black olives, jalapenos, sour cream, onions...mmmm it's making me hungry for tacos! have a few bridesmaids over early to help you get the stuff ready- you shouldn't have to do it all by yourself!

maybe order up some good pizzas of different varieties and lots of other snacks like pasta salad, green salad and other appetizer type stuff out.

sloppy joes or shredded turkey for sandwiches...maybe a pasta bar with pasta and different sauces and meats for it?
