Question:

Back, hip and leg pain that comes and goes. Could this be arthritis?

Some days my lower back, hips, and right leg hurt so badly I think I can barely walk. This may go on for several days, or for three or four days consecutively.

Then other days I am just as pain free and flexible as ever. I had wondered about a slipped disk or spinal stenosis, but wouldn't the pain from these conditions be constant?

Is arthritis a pain that comes and goes? Does anyone else have experience with back pain that is intermittent, and if so - what is your diagnosis and how do you relieve the pain?

Thank you.

  1. that sounds a little like the pain that i had.  i ended up having reconstructive hip surgery because of hip dysplasia.  i had pain from my upper butt/lower back down my leg and in my hip.  the pain was really bad when i walked a bunch but okay when i was lazy.  it also hurt when i sat for a long time.  you might want to get your hips checked out by a hip specialist because the longer you wait to get it fixed the less can be done to fix it.  i also had a slipped disk which hurt a lot.  it was my L5 and it was pinching my sciatic nerve causing pain all the way down my leg and was making my leg go numb.  i ended up having back surgery to fix it and havent had any more problems with it since.  i suggest you go to the doctor because it took 4 years for them to find something wrong with my hip!

  2. It could be arthritis, or anything else.

I would recommend you to start wearing a SACROILIAC BELT (aka SI BELT or TROCHANTER BELT or PELVIS BELT).

What it does is that by providing the correct balance of resistance and resilience, the SI belt re-establishes the joint’s normal motion,  thus relieves stress and instability at these weight bearing structures. The price of SI belts are in reasonable range these days, average cost is about $40 USD. I know a lot of people who wear SI belts, and I've read some astonishing testimonials about it. There are many  si belts out there, but Serola SI Belt seems to be the best one as far as quality, comfort, and price are considered. Check out their website for more: http://www.serola.net/product_new_sac_be...

I think you buy directly from their website at: http://serolabelt.com/new-serola-sacroil...

Hope it helps, good luck to you!
