  1. like yeah ....they do it always

  2. Her insurance company would not likely do this. She may think so, but it is doubtful. Back dating would mean the company stated that she had insurance before she actually paid her premiums to cover the ticket date.

  3. Wow- that lady is completely selfish.  I suppose she just doesnt care if she wrecks a small families new 25k minivan that they spent years saving up for?  Not to mention she doesnt care that she has no insurance to pay their childs medical bills? how incredibly selfish of her.. that makes me very sad.

Not only is she selfish.. she misinformed and uneducated too.  No- you absolutely CANNOT backdate insurance.  Like the poster above said- then we would all save money and just drive around until we were involved in an accident.

I hope you lose alot of respect for this coworker who puts us all in danger.

  4. She can ask to get her insurance back dated but the answer will be "no".

If you do not have insurance - the company is not going to let you come in, pay premium and get it back dated.

If that were allowed -- then everyone would drive around w/o insurance. And when they have a wreck, stroll into the agents office and just back date the coverage and pay the premium.

If you do not have insurance and come in to get it -- the coverage becomes effective on the date/time you issue the payment. It does not go backwards.

The only way the coverage would back date is if the lapse in insurance was caused by an error caused by the insurance company or its agents.

  5. no reputable licensed agent would do this.  they would loose their license.
