Question:

Back handspring back tuck!?!?

I kind of need to have a back handspring back layout or possibly full soon because my coach really wants me to but I can't even do a back handspring back tuck. I've never attempted one but I tend to be a fairly quick learner so I'm definitely going to need to know how to set and if when learning the skill I should practice it with a pause in between the back handspring and back tuck or if I should just go for it. I can easily do back tucks and back layouts on the trampoline and that's where I will be practicing these skills. So if you have any tips on how to learn how to set or how to learn this that'd be great:)

  1. You will need to think about using the feet as a type of "punch front"....but a "punch front" in reverse because the back tuck is essentially a "back flip."

Your difficulty in this is spotting after your back handspring...and the position of your hands after the handspring before it. Make sure you tuck your fingers in your chest, and when you spot, spot on your "back tuck salto" first at the floor when you legs are in the air, and then whip your head to spot at a wall (horizontally, of course) but wait until your legs are about 1/8 second away from landing before whipping your head.
