Back in '60s and '70s last century,were American school boys forced to be naked during swimming lessions?

I've heard of this before. But not sure yet. Guys were forced to be naked ( no swiming trunks allowed) during the high school swimming lessions? However, girls are permitted to wear swimming suits?

Some American high school hired female swimming coach on purpose and taught naked school boys to swim? True or False?

I don't believe that at all.  We certainly wore swim trunks.  There would have been lawsuits if boys had been forced to be naked during swim lessons.

Not to my knowledge. I have never heard that before as even an urban legend.

Yep, they sure were.  That's why there was a YMCA and YWCA.  The didn't have the high tech swim trunks and the shorts would shed fuzz which supposedly would clog the filters.

A lot of the men's only sports club had/have this too.
