Back pain and shooting pains in v****a?

Question

Is this a sign that labor is coming? Im 37 weeks and 5 days and when I went to the doctor on monday she said that I am 2cm and 75% effaced now today since about 2pm ive had constant back pain and every few minutes I get a shooting pain in my v****a. Also my baby seems to be a lot more active today. Please say Im going into labor I am so ready.

it is very possible!

i had a terrible back/lower abdomen ache on Thursday 2 weeks ago and i thought i was going into labor, but my waters didnt break until the 2 days later (saturday) and i wasn't even in labor..  my labor had to be induced because i was gbs+ and my baby was at increased risk of infection as my waters had already broken.

just relax, as these may likely be the last few days you will have to yourself!

It sounds like back labor to me. I would call your doctor.

I'm the same as you...and have the same pain. Its probably you dilating, but if you want to call your dr. or midwife. I have had this for three weeks now...ugh. Definatly not a labor sign for me!

i would go to the hospitol they might put u in if ur 3 cm dilated good luck! im almost 31 weeks and im soooo ready now lol

it is very possible or you could just be dialating more.  Good Luck

it does sound like the start of labor but this can carry on for weeks. do some walking and hot showers and s*x. these all help in getting you closer but when the baby is ready will she come good luck and congrats
