Back shock spring broke, can i take it off and drive for today?

as i was leaving the driveway i heard a rowing sound. the spring was grinding against the tire. i took the tire off, the spring literally broke, if i take the spring off, can i drive it today?

  1. If you're saying the car has a spring over the shock absorber in addition to the spring on the car, yes, you can drive it sanely and unloaded for a day. Don't get cocky and keep driving that way though. You'll break components. If it's the actual suuport/ride spring, no, you can't drive an un-suspended car.  


  2. No because the spring is what supports the vehicle. Your not going anywhere today, unless you want to put yourself at risk of an accident and have someone sue the h**l out of you because you put an known unsafe car on the road.    

  3. you could but no it wouldn't be safe at all i would say the only place you should go with it is your local auto parts store if you have to but it is very dangerous
