I really need a job. i quit my job at mcdonald's 5 months ago and was thinking of going back. im 17 and will start college september 2008 and i need money for that, the upcoming prom, gas, and personal wants. i worked at mcdonald's for 11 months and i recently applied for a job at my local picknsave and target. With my experience at mcdonald's and good relationship with my old boss are the chances high that i will get hired at picknsave or target? My old boss said i could get my job at mcdonald's back but it has to be within a few days. Some days at mcdonald's can be tiring and stressful with disrespectful customers and facepaced environment but i liked that there were a lot of teens that i was cool with and some days werent so bad. Problem is that should i go back to mcdonald's because if i do i cant quit because itll look bad if picknsave hires me later. picknsave pays better and is easier overall. should i take the job mcdonald's now or risk not having at all and wait for picknsave

  1. Don't take the McDonalds job since someone will pop in your place, take the picknsave one because someone else will get your McD job and you can have the picknsave one.

  2. Go back it pays good and you can look for another later.

  3. If McD's manager is good people and you are honest with him about waiting for the other job to come in.

  4. While PicknSave pays better, you've got McDonalds in your hand. If you're going away to college, it won't matter if you take the McDonald's job and quit a short time later. If you happen to be staying in town for college you have to weigh out your options. Sit down with a calculator and figure out how much you stand to gain by waiting (in future earnings), compaired to what you would have made if you were working already. Is the difference really that much? Go back to McDonalds and do your thing.

  5. a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.

take the sure thing.  if you're offered something better later, it's okay to take it.

just do a good job wherever you are and earn the respect of your managers and co-workers so you can get good references.

  6. take any job that will pay your bills then start looking around !!

  7. i would find another job because they wont hire you back because you quit and they most likely have your spot filled by this point i would find another job  i have tryed to have this one company hire me back and the wont do it because i quit 10 month ago

  8. I would wait to see if you get the job at the Picknsave.  If you don't get that job and you're not able to get the McDonalds job back, apply at Arby's.  I used to work there and I liked it a lot.

  9. You are faced with a decision that so many workers are faced with daily when looking for employment.

This is only a question you can answer.  Make a list of pros and cons when working at  McDonalds.

Make a list of pros and cons for each other job and compare all lists.

Personally, I would go back to McDonalds. Your previous employee obviously feels you were valuable employee if willing to re-hire. You know the job and would be easy to go back to.  Ask previous boss for raise.

    Good luck
