  1. Ask the teenagers to go get a job.  First things first, buy school supplies, they need that.  Consider a second job?

  2. See if you have a Plato's closet nearby.  They sell gently used clothes for teenagers for cheap (Abercrombie, etc) and buy school supplies at Walmart.  You may want to try looking at clothes at Walmart too as they're starting to have some good looking clothes now.  Also, if you're wanting more of a selection, go to Walmart.com and buy some clothes online and have it shipped to the store for FREE.

Does your state have a tax free weekend?  If it does, you won't have to pay taxes on clothing or school supplies.  Check this list to see if you're state has one if you aren't sure:

    Best of luck to you!

  3. You can always try Pladoh's closet not sure if the clothes is any cheaper...I know that Burlington Coat Factory has some good deals and they have layaway...right now the school stuff like notebooks and stuff are really cheap at Walmart...you can check that out...hope things get better..I am feeling the pinch as well but my kids are not in school yet... Good Luck!

  4. most communities offer a back pack program were they give the kids a back pack and school supplies for parents that cannot afford it usually the kids community center knows were to go. I would also go to consignment stores and shop for clothes, if you are concerned about the kids not being ok with this then shop without them and they don't need to know were it came from. as for sport costs the schools usually have a fund for parents who cannot afford it approach them and ask or check with local organizations such as the kinsmen club etc.. they always support children who need it. don't be afraid to ask as everyone needs help at sometime or another.

  5. go 2 walmart

you'll be able to buy each of their school supplies&backpacks there for less then $50!

  6. Walmart and Target seem to have the best prices where we live. Everything seems to be getting more and more expensive! As far as clothes go, I would just get what they really NEED. And then for supplies, see the ads in Sunday's paper. But again, I got all our children's supplies at Target and Walmart and they were fairly reasonable.

  7. Well, all your kids need are pens, pencils, folders, and notebooks. They don't really need markers, crayons, scissors, etc. Clothes aren't a necessity if their stuff from last year fits. Try places like TJ Maxx and even Walmart for clothes. If your kids are teens, they can get jobs to buy their own clothes--give them each a small budget and when it's gone, it's gone. If your daughter wants to play volleyball, it comes out of that budget--it's her choice to play.
