Question:

Back to school help??

I know this is my fault, but school starts in 10 days and I haven't done my summer reading yet. I have 3 very long, difficult books to read so it's impossible to do it that short amount of time. I'm in an AP class so i can't blow it off. Does anyone know any websites that highlight the keep points in each chapter as I have to make a chapter by chapter journal. The books are Gulliver's Travels, A Prayer for Owen Meany, and Wuthering Heights. Please help!!

  1. Thank you. You made me feel better. I thought I was the only one who was procrastinating till the last moment :) Sorry about this, I know you didn't want to hear it.

  2. hey my school starts in 10 days too!!!

try sparknotes or cliffnotes  [just google them and you'll get the site]

also try googling the books themselves because summaries of the books can be on less popular websites.

  3. My child has read his assignments, but Googled the books to get others' ideas on symbolism, etc. He put the title of the book into Google, and it brought up many listings. Good luck.

  4. The books you mentioned are common for high school lit, so sparknotes.com, gradesaver.com, or cliffnotes.com should be able to help you with chapter descriptions, character lists, key themes, etc.

  5. Well if you start right now and get off the computer, then you WILL finish. It will be tiring and tedious, but you can do it! Just put your mind to it, don't let anything get in the way, and let this be a lesson for you not to procrastinate!!!

  6. 1. First, you you at least make an effort to read at least SOME of the books. Pick the one that looks the most interesting, and try it. Read 2 chapters, and if you still find it dull, move on to the next. Once you find a book that grabs you, read it!

    2. If you don't have time to finish, sparknotes.com can really help you. They give overviews of each chapter, so you can read the summaries of the chapters instead

    3. If you are going to use sparknotes.com, read and RE-READ each chapter summary.

Good luck! and happy reading =)

  7. Well Gulliver's Travels and Wuthering Heights are classics so those should be easy to find.

    Try Sparknotes.com, Pinkmonkey.com

You really should read them though.  These websites will by no means get you a good grade, but you should pass.

  8. go on a website where you can buy a report or whatever and they'll have it

  9. sparknotes.com

  10. PHEW thought i was alone. Well we get reading list EVERY YEAR. and EVERY YEAR you will go in class. Teacher will say "Who ACTUALLY did there reading this summer" Raise your d**n hand you know u didnt lol its the first day he will give u the benefit of the doubt. Then he will say "Well yall better get the reading book report is due in 2 weeks"

  11. no offense but HAHAHAHA all ways do homework when you get you get from your teacher and don't blow it off
